25th: Vindicated

It’s a not-so-fortunate story
that I ever heard
It’s a once in a lifetime moment
out of one million chances on earth…
…when two person’s highways in life
intersects.
It’s about mom and dad.

Mom was only seventeen when she
runaway from home. I bet she was too frustrated and tired with her mother’s
wrecking wrath
(it was doubled now, my grandma)
Amidst of her wandering, she met
this rebellious but sympathetic guy, dad.
He is an outcast, and become one
of the youngest member in Philippine military troupe.
You see, dad has dozen of
children, sons and daughters in different mothers. Well, I really don’t think
it’s a romantic fact for both of them to become sweethearts.
(I’m the one who is fortunate for
that fact)

When she went home… (with dad)
A verdict was made…
They were sentenced….a life
sentence…MARRIAGE!!!!

So different from fairy tales,
after exchanging “I do’s” there was no “ever after” thing.
Instead, horrible moments
happened.
Tough days in parade….and yah…not
to mention the intrusion of mom’s mom (grandma) and mom’s mom’s mom..(Ok
whatever)

Similar things happened (I meant
those inopportune happenings)
To be honest, words like “anak
maghihwalay na kami” sucked things up…but its ironic we’re all used to it.
For how many long years with that
on and off very familiar break-up blues, I wonder, did they ever get tired of
it?? Hmmm… “Aderner” if they did then darn it!!! Five days from now would be
another year of their marriage…and surely a lot more years to come…
More tough days…(“,)
More wrecking wrath from
grandma…(“,)
(Yah, its normal)
I’m sure  it’s a thing in my life that I ought to be
thankful… having them.

25th SILVER ANNIVERSARY

They would be marrying again..
A verdict again..
But this time its different..
Its their proven love for each
other.

It’s vindicated.
(im sorry mom, dad, i wasn’t able to come home)

*its also from my friendster blog dated May 22, 2007 (unedited)
